“Needlework libraries will find this an excellent choice.” — Review by James A. Cox, Editor-in-Chief
“Amazing Ways to Use Circles & Rays” tells how to draft complicated designs using circles and rays, showing how to draw some circles, divide them into wedges, and connect points for quilts in award-winning styles. A CD with patterns for seven projects offer different sizes in a “whole precess” method for sewing sections easily. --James A. Cox, Editor-in-Chief, The Midwest Book Review, The Bookwatch, July 2010, The Needlecraft Shelf. (Posted on 8/17/10)
Amazing Ways to Use Circles and Rays — Review by Kathy Niemann
As a fan of Renae's quilts, it is exciting that she is willing to share her techniques for drafting and sewing curves and radiating medallions. The only thing better would be if she would come over and make it for me. Smile. Great instructions and photos. (Posted on 5/12/10)
Terrific Photography — Review by Peggy Holt
I have received my book from Renae Haddadin and am absolutely thrilled to see how beautiful my “Giant Dahlia” photographed. In fact, the photography in the entire book is wonderful. Way to go, Charley! (Posted on 5/5/10)
Amazing Ways to use Circles & Rays — Review by Barbara Polston
Renae Haddadin is the master of precision-pieced medallion quilts. In this master class, she shares all her secrets. The first seven chapters are devoted to the step-by-step process to enable you to learn not only all the techniques you'll need to know, but what products work best and the optimal way to set up your sewing space. Renae includes instructions for seven projects based on her quilts. Patterns are also included on a CD. This is not an undertaking for the beginner, but, if your desire is to take your quilting to the next level, Renae will hold your hand every step of the way. Renae's quilting adds another layer of design to her work. We can only hope that her next book is "Amazing Ways to Quilt Circles & Rays!" (Posted on 4/20/10)
Circles & Rays by Renae Haddadin — Review by Vivian Benton
Design and draft your own Mariner’s Compass and New York Beauty quilts. Sounds scary doesn’t it? Renae Haddadin, in her book “Amazing Ways to Use Circles & Rays,” has simplified this process for us. If you take the time to do each step carefully, you will not only learn simple ways to draft these once complicated patterns, but you will also learn to do them very accurately. Renae says the most complicated math required using her drafting technique is knowing what a 90-degree angle is. I admit this is not for the faint of heart, but after sitting down one night and carefully reading through each step, I was much less intimidated––especially since much of the piecing is done with foundation paper piecing, my favorite!
