Twelve exciting projects — Review by Connie Krochmal
Overall Rating
Judy Laquidara introduces 12 exciting, pieced bed quilt projects in "Nine-Patch Extravaganza." Some of these are standard nine-patch blocks. Others feature innovative stars, pinwheels, and hourglass blocks made from simple and easy triangles. For some projects, the designer offers variations for the border. Includes easy to follow, step-by-step color illustrated directions for creating the blocks, borders, and quilt tops. Handy cutting charts along with a list of fabrics needed for each quilt is also included. This title also features general instructions for all the quilting basics. It covers everything from choosing and cutting fabrics to adding borders and finishing quilts. (Posted on 3/28/09)

I received my copy of this book yesterday in the mail, and have had my eyes glued to it ever since. This is by far the best quilting book I own! The pictures are fantastic, and graphics concise and easy to follow. The colors selected for the example quilts are gorgeous! I certainly hope this author is already planning the sequel, the author is a natural for designing and presenting her ideas to her audience. For those who dream of making a spectacular heirloom, this is your guide.
