Review of Add-a-Line Extreme Quilting Patterns — Review by Quilters Newsletter Magazine
Overall Rating
Variations on the 112 quilting motifs in this book offer seemingly endless possibilities, and one of them is sure to be just what you need for your latest quilt. The add-a-line concept offers simplest, basic continuous-line designs with the option of adding more lines for complexity and interest. The border designs are especially nice, each more so than the last. Choose the elegant oranges and diamonds for a traditional look or stitch the running horses on a quilt for your favorite cowboy. Ready, set, quilt! Janie Donaldson’s third book in her Add-a-Line quilting series demonstrates how to take simple continuous-line quilting designs and turn them into complex-looking patterns, just by quilting in a second and third row. The five chapters progress from one-line designs to four-line designs, and multi-line patterns are printed in color to help readers trace the “quilting path.” Patterns can be duplicated in any size to fit either large or small quilts and encompass a variety of motifs including angels, feathers, cornucopias, horses, hearts, flowers, leaves, and teacups. With Janie’s book, you’ll certainly never be at a loss as to how to quilt your quilts! (Posted on 11/1/07)
