Quintessential Suzanne Marshall — Review by Kathie
Overall Rating
Renowned quilter Suzanne Marshall shares advice, techniques, and quilting designs. Advice includes areas such as batting, basting, and marker choices. For techniques she explains through text and illustration how she hand appliqués and quilts, with tips on what makes her successful. Most interesting of all for many readers are the judges' comments, both positive and constructive, on several of Suzanne's prize-winning quilts. (Posted on 12/24/14)
A book for quilters who like folk art appliqué and hand quilting — Review by Linda
Overall Rating
If hand quilting is your thing, or if you’ve thought about taking up hand quilting, then Suzanne Marshall’s book will guide you in creating quilts worthy of being judged. She begins by sharing all the reasons for hand quilting, the least of which is simply to have a portable project. Then, using designs that are appliquéd, folksy and detailed, she takes the reader through hand quilting, offering numerous background quilting designs. Suzanne shows and shares her judged quilts experiences, including both positive and negative comments received from her own judged quilts. Quilters will take away this information as helpful insider tips. (Posted on 12/11/14)
