Beautiful Vintage Quilts! — Review by Patty
Overall Rating
Beautiful vintage quilt patterns using paper piecing and embroidery. A lot of detailed information on piecing these quilts. Be sure to read the history on these patterns, which is included in the book. (Posted on 3/22/16)
disappointed — Review by Janice
Overall Rating
I was very disappointed in this book, mainly because the description didn't match the contents. There are only 3 quilts represented here--that is 3 quilt blocks, a scottie dog, a cat and a girl. All the quilt patterns given are variations of only these 3 blocks. I also was led to believe the book included directions for paper piecing, but it does not. There is not a single word in the entire book about paper piecing! And virtually nothing is said about embroidery ( other than to list embroidery thread on the list of materials needed). The embroidery shown on the book cover for example (for the cats) is not even shown on the template pattern. I guess you make it up as you go. Hugely disappointed. (Posted on 1/29/16)
