Jelly Roll Quilt Magic

Jelly Roll Quilt Magic

The popularity of Jelly Rolls, Layer Cakes, and Turnovers hasn't waned, but the quilts made from them have begun to a look a lot alike until now! Kimberly Einmo, rising star international instructor and AQS author of Jelly Roll Quilts & More (2010), introduces an entirely new design sense in this book, which really is a magical approach to using precuts. She also introduces a 'shopping list' concept to make prepping for sewing a snap. More time for creating, sewing, and quilting! 13 colorful projects give readers the opportunity to grasp her vision, and she provides block options for true originality. Last but not least, Kimberly experimented using precuts in a Round Robin exchange with international quilting friends. The idea and the results are amazing. This book will fuel quilt guild projects and challenges for years to come.

Jelly Roll Quilt Magic is an excellent resource for quilters — Review by SewCalGal
"Must Have" book for any quilter that enjoys or wants to learn to create spectacular quilts using Jelly Rolls, as well as those that are familiar with creating such quilts but would like to create more spectacular quilts. The 12 designs in this book have easy to follow instructions and great visuals. Each design is worth the cost of this book alone. Great value.

Jelly Roll Quilt Magic — Review by Quilt Almanac
Having quilting books is like having a personal class in your home, and it’s always a bonus when the instructor has a sense of humor, and perhaps even a magician’s hat. Kimberly Einmo’s personality shines through in her book as she introduces a new approach to jelly roll designs. From cutting instructions in “shopping list” form to basic unit construction, these patterns assemble in a flash. And, even better, they don’t have that common “jelly roll” look to them. As her final trick, Kimberly offers up two galleries one of “Quilted Bitlets,” made from each project’s leftovers, and the other of jelly roll round-robin quilts. --”Quilt Almanac 2012”, page 87. Kimberly Einmo's Jelly Roll Qiult Magic — Review by James A. Cox, Edtor-in-Chief
"Jelly Roll Quilt Magic" offers some twelve projects using precuts or fabrics from a stash and offers streamlined cutting instructions, shopping lists, and plans for quickly using these precuts to maximum advantage. The focus is on creating different patterns and projects from these fabrics and projects: tips for success and a shipping schedule offer ideas on projects suitable for classes and individual use alike. Color photos of finished projects completes the presentation. --James A. Cox, Editor-in-Chief, The Bookwatch, Midwest Book Review, January 2012. (Posted on 1/11/12)
Jelly Roll Quilt Magic — Review by S. L. Smith, Amazon
Yes, some of these jelly roll books are starting to look awfully similar, but I am still happily buying most of them. Kimberly Einmo’s “Jelly Roll Quilt Magic” approaches the field of pre-cuts from a different perspective: create 11 basic block units from 7 basic sub-units. Add some signature Einmo style and your own personal fabric favorites, and you've got 12 new projects to consider. No black hat or magic wand needed! What I like most about Einmo’s books is that her spirit pervades each page and every instruction. Einmo’s real talent is in seeing a beautiful forest in all those pre-cut trees. There are some really extraordinary quilts in this book. There are two bonus sections at the end of the book: a brief gallery section showing how to use leftover bitlets and a Round Robin way to build a fabulous quilt with friends via mail. Kimberly Einmo’s “Jelly Roll Quilt Magic” is definitely buy-worthy because it sprinkles in a few really sophisticated yet do-able projects with the other more traditional pre-cut designs. It makes me want to see what else she can come up with in another book. (Posted on 10/19/11)
Jelly Roll Quilt Magic — Review by Kathy Niemann
All good things merge in this book for me. Piecing, scrap looking quilts and JELLY ROLLS!! (no need to cut...so awesome). The last chapter is the "something more". How to do a jelly roll round robin. Cool! I never thought of that. Time to get one going. Thanks Kimberly. (Posted on 10/15/11)
Jellyroll Magic — Review by Kay Schumacher
I took a class from Kimberly in Des Moines, IA last October. She said this quilt is in her new book "Jellyroll Magic". It is great!!! She asked us not to let anyone copy our blocks because it is in her new book. I have at least 6 women that want that book, and I plan on buying it myself. She is a very good teacher and I will take another class from her if I get the chance. (Posted on 5/21/11)
