Annoying — Review by Kathleen
Overall Rating
I was hoping for another quilt-related author like Jennifer Chiaverini, Hudson or Cerney. Instead, the story line is more along the lines of the main character being the village idiot.
She is totally irresponsible, seems to be proud of her inability to drive and screws up even the simplest tasks. In an era where we are attempting to applaud women's accomplishments, this story applauds total incompetence. To make it worse, whoever heard of a quilt retreat that provides the food that is normally prepared by someone who prefers tofu to chocolate? A group of us attended a quilt retreat about twenty years ago where one meal consisted of ham that could have doubled as shoe leather and tasteless braised celery. This is the first time I've ever given a book a bad review. I appreciate the work that goes into writing a book, but life is too short to waste time reading this. (Posted on 1/4/21)
